After working as a stockbroker for 6 years, Jason founded Pulp Films in 2002, marrying his knowledge of business with his love of film. With tremendous people skills and an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of both the production and business worlds, he has produced documentaries, sports shows, commercials and corporate videos of every kind. Cats, coffee, travel and South Africa are his greatest passions.
After studying drama at Wits and film at New York University, Etienne has worked variously as a journalist, producer, writer, editor, and director on work ranging from Time magazine to reality television. He started producing work for Carte Blanche in 2014, and has had recent successes with creative scriptwriting and short filmmaking. He has worked on multiple documentaries, which remains his greatest passion.
Since completing his degree at AFDA, Mzi has produced short films, documentaries, award-winning music videos and corporate films. He joined Pulp in 2008 to collaborate on the SAFTA-nominated My Beautiful Game documentary series. Mzi is constantly broadening his production horizons, and is currently completing Through My Lens, a documentary about the life of Alf Kumalo.
Chris is a talented director and editor, having worked on various corporate films, documentaries, music videos and advertisements. Music and stories inspire him and his passion lies in projects where he is able to freely apply his creativity. Having worked his way up through the ranks, his work ethic, professionalism and determination ensure all of his projects are of a high standard, however big the task.
Loveson began his career at Pulp as a security guard in 2007. With an unquenchable thirst for learning and an unparalleled work ethic, Loveson has become an invaluable part of the Pulp team, both on-set as a gear manager and camera assistant and in the post-production environment as an offline editor.
Thuli is the most recent addition to Pulp. With a varied production background, she is now Pulp’s full-time production manager. As vibrant as she is determined, Thuli is the prototypical production manager: tough as nails or sweet as honey, as long as the show goes on smoothly!
Faith is the all-round caretaker of Pulp. As a general office manager, she is up-skilling in the areas of accounts, client liaison and office administration.
Sunny joined Pulp in 2007 as a driver, and has persistently broadened his understanding of the production industry. He is responsible for gear management and is an important member of the production crew on almost every shoot Pulp does.
